1. My first day of work is today.  When will my account be ready?


It may take upward of 4 hours after all HR processes are completed for your account to be created and ready for use.


2. What would my password be once my account is created?


All newly created employee accounts should follow the same default password scheme.  This should be: 


The first letter of your first name capitalized, the first letter of your last name lowercase, the last six digits of your Social Security Number, followed by "_RCCemp!".


For example, John Smith's default password would be Js123456_RCCemp!


3. How long will this default password be good for?


Your default password will be good for 1 year after it was initially assigned.  At that point, you should be automatically prompted to set a new password the next time you sign in.


4. What if I need to reset my password or would like to change it?

5. What is my username?


Your username is usually provided to you during your initial walkthrough with IT, but for reference, it should be the first initial of your first name followed by your full last name, unless this username is already in use, in which case it will append the next letter of your first name.  


For example, John Smith is a new employee, but jsmith is already taken, so he is assigned the username josmith.


6. Is my username the same as my email address?


Your email will be username.robeson.edu (example: [email protected]).  You will typically enter only your username when you are signing into a campus computer (on the initial login page) and will enter your full email address when signing into a web platform (Outlook, Moodle, etc).  However, some exceptions may apply.
